nychen [admin's] thoughts4x01 Cindy Plumb09.05.2006 just saw the season4 premiere...i love that there are not too many commercials, instead are a handful of movie previews, all of which i've already seen. i am looking forward to ryan murphy's "Running with Scissors"...superb cast with annette benning, alec baldwin and rachel evan woods. back to 4x01 "cindy plumb", while this episode is named after kathleen turner's guest character, the episode wasn't really all about her, not even that memorable since there were more than enough guest stars to distract you with. first, larry hagman, yes from "I Dream of Jeannie"! i love that show! i've never seen "Dallas", but his appearance didnt do much, nor did his wife, played by actress Sanaa Lathan. i think Lathan appears in several more episodes season4, not sure...the odd inter-racial young/old couple did just buy McNamara/Troy. an even odder even to happen since last season Dr. Quentin Costa was the guy who was trying to buy Christian/Sean out. or something like that... what i find amazing is that there is absolutely NO mention of season3, except for that little nod towards Christian's broken relationship with Kimber and the spa De La Mer and Gina. when will we get to see these two women? i do love their characters...kimber has guts and soul with a soft touch and gina is just bluntly honest and outrageous. i was half expecting to see matt appear, but thankfully he stayed in the garage! wow, look daughter annie's back! hmm, not sure why...i hope her appearances aren't dwindled to nothingless like last season. i wonder if this season will have much of the children? i'm sure matt will start to cause havoc once he makes an appearance. anyone miss ava? i can't fully appreciate the premiere, it seemed anti-climatic in some ways...even with the first 5 minutes we had both Christian/Sean stripping off their clothes to have sex with their woman/women partners. it's always fun to see them doing the same thing but having completely different experiences! i love the writing of julia's pregnancy affecting her sexual positions, ahah! even doggie-style! i dont particularly like julia's character being pregnant. this whole idea sucks in tv plots...must i note my all-time favourite show "The X-Files"?! there are other shows [i can't remember] who have had their female leads pregnant and then deliver the baby, and then the show just basically stalls and plummets to writer's block and cycles back into itself. frankly, the whole idea of the McNamara baby being handicapped sounds like a device just to pull in the audience. yes, i feel bad but i dont really care. i feel like 'what's the point?' i mean Sean/Julia already have 2 kids, one we hardly see [Annie] and another who is fucked up [Matt]. need we another? it's getting crowded for no reason. also the fact that news of joely richardson leaving the show mid-season [or later] doesn't sound good. i am going to predict that julia leaves with the handicapped baby and raises him herself? maybe that english student of hers will help out! AHAH! seriously, i dont like baby storylines. back to 4x01, hmm i think this season explores christian's sexuality and his relationship with sean, his hobby. AH! i dont particularly want to see christian's character having sex with other men, or kissing them, but maybe that's his fate since in season1, the audience did find out that he was raped/molested as a kid by the pastor or something. we will ever go back to that storyline? we already know christian is a fucked up boy in a man's body... as for christian redecorating his house, nice...quite dark with a huge metal penis sculpture! of course we know christian was is and always will be a metrosexual...geez, i've never met a 'butch' guy with candles in his house!!! that's the sign of 'strangeness.' AHAHHA!!! i did like that scene with him and the decorator though. hmm 5000 surgeries? cool...was that a gold surgical knife? i'd like to get my hands on that prop. i'm sure it's just made of shiny plastic! AH! season4's premiere had EXTREMELY high expectations, just from the marketing you could tell...i mean radio ads and tv commercials out the wazoo! i absolutely love the promos though, Goldfrapp's "Strict Machine" song rocks! and the whole thing about the statue and Christian/Sean fixing it...neat, not sure what the hell it means. i did study Art History but i have the memory of a fly. someone tell me please. as for the season4 previews of the other episodes, looks good...of course it does. it ALWAYS does...FX does superb marketing. i want to join please! SPOILERS AHEAD... i did see a glimpse of escobar...it's hard to miss a bald tattoo'd guy, the rest flew by so quickly i'm not sure what the heck i saw. something about someone getting whacked in the head with a globe of some kind, someone dies or at least there's a bodybag...rosie o'donnell guest stars [she's hot this year, check her on ABC's "The View"]...christian/sean still fight like they're an old married couple...sean probably fucks his opar [nanny...a popular hollywood thing]...christian likely ends up banging Sanaa Lathan's character [does she remind you of the last black woman he fucked, Aisha Tyler's character]...and finally, some other guest stars who might be famous for some reason but i dont know! a rough start, but i'm sure things will be exploding or imploding soon! the show should be getting back to basics, the surgeries/character and then how it relates to christian/sean and their lives. i'm glad to get away from season3, although i dont want it completely dismissed, looks like everyone's all healed, throat [christian], finger [sean] and faces [kimber/gina?]. i'd like to see some consequences of the Carver, although i dont think it'll happen, i'm sure most of that storyline is all 'carved out' and no more. i do want to see some S&M, that was in the season4 preview :P and please, something dark and dramatic, i love the humor though. C
