[ episode guide : season1 | season2 | season3 | season4]
nychen [admin's] thoughts3x08 Tom Bolton11.08.2005 is it just me, or is "Nip/Tuck" getting weird? i mean, like not "N/T"-like weird...like over-soap-operatic-ish? like, is this really what's going on type of weird, unexplainable and confusing weird... "This is not the Make-A-Wish foundation." Costa first, it's all the characters. too many it seems...i have been wondering where matt has been since he got his nose got smashed in by his father [sean]...that was 3 or 4 episodes ago? in season4, i love that kimber and gina are back, and that there's a new trouble-maker doctor costa in the house, but it feels like the show is overcrowded with characters and plots and not enough time to develop them well enough. heck, we have the cast, and then now we also have tons of guest stars sticking around for more than one episode. it's getting big on the show, and there's not enough time to fit everyone in. heck, we dont even get to see the carver much! it's episode 7, and we've seen him once or twice...for less than a minute total!!! i love the show, but whenever i watch the show now [for the last 3-4 episodes], i am not feeling that surge of energy or 'shit' or 'damn' anymore...instead i'm left feeling depressed. yes i know season3 is suppose to be dark, but it's so dark i dont feel anything...heck, liz probably gave me too much anesthesia and i'm numb in the brain! second, i dont like anne heche's accent. we all know she doesnt sound like that, and it doesn't sound realistic or even believable. anne heche is anne heche, whether you dye her hair brown or give her a fake nose. the whole plot concerning her mob-ness and getting together with sean, well it seems too manipulated. sure, i know the point - sean's lost his family and he's searching for a replacement, almost the opposite of what is happening to christian - he's gained family [mother] and fiance [kimber] and searching for something to plug that emptiness he's felt all his life. "But we don't perform boob jobs for free, either." Costa the show surely feels different than season1 and 2, and maybe that's good...but i am not sure where things are leading up to, which can be bad for niptuckfans. i mean, so many plotlines are left open and characters left out. where's detective kit mcgraw? we last saw her 2 episodes ago! she get's carved and then disappears... i'm disappointed. i hope there are more episodes this season, and i'll be damned if the carver turns out to be who i think it is...and this better not end up being a trick/twist on the show. i'll be happy when the whole carver thing gets solved, and maybe the show can get back to what it used to be, shocking and on the edge...not trying too hard to be realistic. i admit, so far, only the carver plotline is getting my heart racing... okay back to the episode... "And once everybody finds out it's proprietors are a dyke, a whore and a housewife, those three business women will be stuck giving rub and tugs..." Christian the word 'replace' is getting used alot in this episode, and it does feel that way. someone on the forum, mentioned that dr. quentin costa seems to be the 'old' christian, having lotsa sex and charm, and christian replacing the 'old' sean, and sean replacing the 5th level of hell, suffering [AHAHAHA, j/k]. but you see what i mean? costa said things are cyclical, this whole shifting of characters is a big turn in the circle! seems predictable in a way, and then not so interesting almost. i dont care about the new characters, anne heche's mobster wife or dr. quentin costa [bruno campos is extremely sexy, that voice melts butter!]...not really care as much as i want to know more about sean and christian and their relationship/friendship...heck we didnt even see them together in ANY scenes this episode. complete separation. i'm shocked. that is probaby what is most upsetting...this show about mcnamara/troy, and we dont even see them together. oh well...i understand the split, the fight, the plot to convince the audience that their friendship is in trouble, their lives are changing, but damn...it doesnt feel like "Nip/Tuck" if you dont have Sean/Christian! "But it hasn't felt like home in a few months, it's just haunted by the ghost of the family that used to live here." Sean let me say, exactly right, this show is starting to feel like the ghost of the seasons that used to air...AHAHA! seriously something needs fixing. who's been writing these episodes? i better look into it...creator ryan murphy is MIA or what? at least, it was really nice to see kimber walking around and introducing herself to christian's mother. she's all happy, and of course, we know the upcoming marriage is going to deflate and kimber's probably going to go fucking crazy because christian is so unsure of himself...he's going to fuck everything up. "Comprenda esa?" Matt maybe that's the way things should be, i mean, no one is happy on the show. heck, i'm not even on the show, and i'm not happy! AHAHAHAH j/k - but from a fan's POV, the show better get back on track, whatever it was, it's not this. hey we got to see that kid who looks like a younger ashton kutcher from the movie "The Butterfly Effect." eh, add that plotline to another reject received by christian...he should be the one knifing himself, not sean. but then again, christian's survived alot, he'll survive without his mother and he'll go running back to his real family, sean, julia, matt and liz. anyone know when the reunion is? AHAH!! maybe the carver will join in? and the best moment of the episode, with the best quotes for a powerful emotion broken-kodak moment:
"Is that what I am to you...a stain?" Christian
"You're my son. But I can't be your mother." Christian's mother sadly and depressingly weird, C-.
