[ episode guide : season1 | season2 | season3 | season4]
nychen [admin's] thoughts3x07 Ben White11.01.2005 a good episode that seemed really scattered. it seems like the episode is split between the women [julia, liz and gina] and men [sean and christian]. i dont particularly like that, the flow of the episode was really off, even if the drama/acting and plot was good. "Baby, you can't depend on mirrors. They can make you look fat, old or thin." Kimber this episode didnt get me really riled up like most all the other "Nip/Tuck" episodes, it seemed really calm. i barely remember any pumping music with lyrics...mainly just music beats. maybe this is the calm before the hell-storm! woo! i do like the actor/character Mr. White who had his leg removed, he's that familiar face from "Star Trek: Enterprise" as dr. flock and he's been that crazy guy on "Cold Case." he's got a very particular way of speaking, which is very intelligent and very creepy. perfect pick for the role... thankfully he's not as well known, or 'big media' factor as joan rivers, which was kind of annoying in this episode. it's either her voice or her freelancing humor which is left into the episode, eh...i like her blunt honesty about herself, but i dont want to see her again. she overpowers the episode. "I am so sick of you doctors, who think you know all the goddamn answers." Mr. White i wish there were no such things as spoilers, and that FX didn't put out those promo pics cause they really screw with fan's minds and outlook on things, there never were such spoilers available [or media attention] for seasons1 and 2...which really made the episodes alot more surprising. what i'm saying is that i knew about anne heche and joan rivers appearing in this episode, heck it was in the promos, but still...i wish FX/marketing would keep it quiet cause i think guest stars are starting to affect the way i look at the episodes, and the overall characters...especially the new characters, getting less believable and not fitting into the show as much as it used to be [when they weren't so publicized]. as for the whole sean going off and doing FBI surgical work, ehhh...anne heche, hmm i dont know much of her work but when you say her name, i automatically think of ellen degeneres, which means, she as an actress isn't much associated with anything besides that "Six Days, Seven Nights" movie right?! j/k...hopefully her character's background breaks out and creates more violence and dark drama than we saw in this episode. it felt like something was missing [in this episode]. some 'umph', some powerful emotional tug or 'ewww' for the surgeries. although that whole self-amputee-plexiglass-sequence was cool! "Sperm is chock full of all these wonderful things!" Woman as for the semen-as-face-cream, yuck and gosh, if this was true and proven scientifically, it would be amazing to see it out on the market!!! AHAHAHA!!! let's all start rubbing jizz on our face!! AHAHA!!! overall a basically slow developing episode, i miss the Carver, i miss matt, i miss sean and christian together. at least we got kimber! i too got spoiled on kimber saying yes to being married to christian, ouch for that scene, killed the romance, but it was still lovely. "You put your son's semen on your face?!" Julia i also miss seeing the carved up detective, kit mcgraw, where'd she go? please say that she has more episodes ahead, but dont tell me, i dont like spoilers! overall, C.
