nychen [admin's] thoughts1x01 Pilot07.22.2003 Season 1 premiere - Two Hollywood doctors of "McNamara & Troy" run a business together and face troubles with patients, family and life. Sean doesn't speak Spanish. "Ass implants, what will they think of next?" Liz Sean and Christian deal with 2 brothers, one Senor Perez, who wants facial reconstruction due to his criminal activity, sleeping with his boss's girl. He gets the surgery for $300,000 cash. Christian meets a 26 year old model named Kimber at a bar and impresses her with his status as a doctor. They quickly go and have sex, and so we also see Sean and his wife Julia having sex. One is wild and fast, the other slow and familiar.
"You're an 8." Christian
"I don't want to be pretty. I want to be better. I want to be perfect." Kimber Christian draws all over Kimber and rates her an 8 and says he can make her a 10. She agrees. Julia makes up her hair, and faux-complains to Sean about her breasts, which he doesn't notice she's just trying to get attention. The whole McNamara family speaks Spanish, except for Sean. Christian and Sean's son, Matt, hang out at his boat "The Boatox." Matt asks Christian for advice about circumcision. Sean denies a woman's need for her son be have surgery due to his horribly burnt skin. Christian and Sean talk while scrubbing. Christian dated Julia before Sean did, yet Sean is the one who married her. Sean finds out about his son wanting a circumcision, and doesn't allow it. "What we do here is let people externalize the hate they feel about themselves." Sean Julia and Mrs. Grubman meet in the McNamara & Troy lounge. Sean and Matt meet in his office to discuss the circumcision. Christian goes to find his Mr. Silvio Perez patient sitting with the boss's girl, who he discovers in only 6 years old. Sean deals with Ms. Kimber Henry, we discover she's got a nose job and breast job and is in serious pain. Christian calls Sean and discovers they've been ripped off. Sean rants out to Christian for accepting drug-money and giving more than a handful of women make-overs they don't need. "For years, I've been transforming other people. Starting today, I'm transforming myself." Sean Julia is watching a video of Christian smoking and drinking with Sean, they are asking each other what they want out of life. Christian wants Julia and a "kick-ass practice" with Sean, Sean wants Julia and to make people feel better and make a difference, Julia wants [???]...Julia pauses the tape as Christian rings the doorbell. They talk about Sean, and Christian asks Julia to show him her breasts so he can give a doctor's opinion. "Symmetry is perfect..I can't recommend surgery, Julia. Your breasts are perfect." Christian Sean and Julia's daughter, Anne, runs into the room as Julia quickly buttons up her shirt. Anne shows Christian her gerbil Frisky. The videotape unpauses and Julia reveals that she wants to go back to school to be a pediatrician and be happy. "I was too busy cleaning up the trail of shit it left everywhere." Julia Sean arrives home and Julia is cooking. Julia gets upset about Sean wanting to quit his practice and do pro-bono work. Julia rants to Sean about him choosing to do pro-bono work, about how he's un-emotional and un-passionate. Sean says he's lost respect for Julia.
"And on your watch, a death has occurred. The death of you and me. This marriage doesn't even have a pulse anymore." Julia
"My god, when was the last time we went to bed and you didn't hate me." Sean Christian visits Sean at some temporary apartment to talk to him about their dreams. Christian shows Sean the 1st dollar they ever made, he breaks the frame and take the dollar as part of their settlement contract. Christian threatens to sue Sean if Sean doesn't get over his mid-life crisis. "I am not going to clean up your shit anymore." Julia Julia is at home on the kitchen table filling out a college application. The cereal box moves and Anne's gerbil Frisky climbs out. Julia freaks a bit and jumps the gerbil, killing it and flushes it down the toilet. Christian is standing near an elevator and sees a little boy walk out. Christian has flashbacks of when he's a child and a Mr. Troy calling his name. The elevator takes Christian to some kind of motel level with lots of models who wants botox for $1000/girl and 10 girls. Sean takes the mask off of Mr. Perez, who offers $20,000 to get his waistline smaller.
"Tomorrow you'll be one bitch." Christian
First time we see Escobar Gallardo, the former boss of Silvio Perez. Gallardo threatens Christian, who we see is mostly naked and tied to a chair. Sean let's Mr. Perez's brother Alejandro sit in during the liposuction. Escobar asks Christian about botox and where Mr. Perez's location is. Christian refuses to tell, and get's 3 botox injections in his face. Sean continues to do lipo until Alejandro pulls a gun and tells Liz, a nurse, to wake his brother Silvio Perez up. Alejandro tells his Perez he's shamed the family, that he's taken advantage of the boss's daughter and his own, so Alejandro ups the anesthia as the tubing for the lipo squirts everywhere. Christian gets a botox shot to the face, and the last botox to his groin. Sean calls Christian's phone and Escobar Gallardo answers. Sean tells him where Silvio Perez is. Everyone now is in the operating room with a dead Silvio Perez on the table. Alejandro leaves with Escobar and Sean and Christian are left to deal with the dead body. Liz leaves ranting about how she's not going to have her life ruined because of their doings. "Fix this!" Liz Sean and Christian are at the local grocery store buying 12 chunks of ham. They tie the hams to the dead body and dump it in some swamp. Both agree to "hire a full-time psychologist to screen better" and do 20% pro-bono work. Both end up cleaning up the bloody car as an alligator comes to chomp on some meat.
